Liquidation? Nay, Just Settling the Accounts

AN APPLICATION has been made to dissolve the Isle of Wight Gazette.

Companies House made the application to strike the Isle of Wight Gazette Ltd from the register under the Companies Act and dissolve the company "unless cause is shown to the contrary within three months."

Gazette editor Jason Kay said: "This is happening because we were late filing our accounts. They are currently being audited and will be filed. "It is business as usual."
Mr Kay was contacted in response to rumour the company was being liquidated. "That is not true and there are no creditors. We publish this week with a cover price of 30p," he said. The Gazette was first published as a freesheet 20 months ago and has not been on the news stands for the past fortnight.
